Cool! These kids, from first graders to twelfth graders, have been keeping the “6 7” rolling since summer time! Now, dictionary.com offers a minute long viral sentence in the viewing area. The site named that name – that’s not the case indeed word- ‘word of the year.’ So, what does that mean? And what is tea, inside joke, Social Media Scoop at 6-7? Here’s a lil’ breakdown of the ap.

Who coined the phrase virus?
According to the AP, the phrase appears to follow Rapper Skrilla’s Song from 2024 called ‘Doot Doot (6-7).’ That song first appeared in Tiktok videos featuring basketball players, including the 6-foot-7 basketball player. Then the boy, now known as ‘the 6-7 kid,’ shouted a kind phrase while another kid next to him put his hands up in a video that went viral this year. That’s all it took.
Since then, parents and teachers have created their own videos that try to explain the feelings. Others offer tips on how to stop their children from repeating themselves throughout the day. Some suggest accepting – even making 6 7 Halloween hats – so it will be cool.
The teachers banned you. Influencers and child psychologists have tried to make sense of it. It has even spilled over into the NFL as a way to celebrate big games.
Dictionary.com is still available 6 7 again
They don’t know. We don’t know. You don’t know. The answer behind the explanation is that no one knows. That means 6-7 changes, and sometimes it depends on who is on the receiving end. And because it is a myth speak upHow to write it is still up for debate. Which is correct: The numbers 6 7, with and without the dash or the six words seven?
According to dictionary.com, it is a phrase – this means “So,” or “maybe this, maybe that.” But that’s when it’s combined with a juggling act.
“It is senseless, ubiquitous, and irrational. In other words, it has all the hallmarks of brainrot,” dictionary.com. “However, it remains meaningful to the people who use it because of the connection it inspires.”
Meanwhile, Merriam-Webster calls 6 7 a “Nonsense speech used primarily with teenagers and tweens.” Some simply use it to frustrate adults when they are asked questions.
So, why is the understanding of the year?
Dictionary.com chooses its word of the year based on social trends and events, so it’s like a history of the language it’s from. The site scoured search engines, articles and social media in making its selection. Online searches for “6-7” were mostly removed in the summer, it said and didn’t cut it. Searches have increased six-fold since June.
“The word of the year isn’t just about popular usage; it reveals the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves and how we’ve changed over the years,” the site said.
But like parents, teachers, and maybe some of Y’All’s rooms, the website is stuck on what it means, too. “Don’t worry, because we’re all still trying to figure out what it means,” The site said in its announcement last week.
