Florida Tiktok Toofmencer, Shoplifter arrested after hiding in SUV from police

A Florida Tiktok Thofmetuncer and Mother-of-Two who built an Internet following with her lifestyle and fashion videos was arrested over the weekend after police tried to hide the officers inside a parked SUV.

Cape Coral police said Marlena Velez, 23, was taken into custody on Oct. 12 After the following weeks were filled with law enforcement arrests for abuse, law enforcement arrests for abuse and fugitives from the September Traffic Stop.

According to police, officers saw a gray 2022 Kia Sorento connected to Velez that afternoon. During the stop, officers initially saw him in the passenger seat but later, he appeared to disappear.

“A flashlight scan revealed Velez lying on the rear quarter board, attempting to hide,” the department said in a release.

Both he and the driver were arrested as Dispatch confirmed his active warrants. Elelez is now facing two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery and one count of fleeing and foreclosure. He remains in custody at the Lee County Jail without bond.

This arrest follows the incident of Sep. 29 when an officer tried to pull Velez over after seeing him driving in a residential area. The police said he stopped at a high speed, forcing the officer to cancel the dismissal. That pursuit led to another fugitive being arrested this week.

Investigators say Velez’s legal troubles began about a year ago, when he was accused of using fake barcodes on a tank to buy cut-price products, policing security video and his tiktok activity.

Police identified Elelez using a social media tip and later confirmed his identity by matching Instagram and Tiktok posts from the same time. Days later, he was arrested again at the same store in an almost identical incident.

Despite the mounting charges, Velez continues to post on her account, @marlenavezezz, which has more than 528,000 followers and 11.8 million likes. His content includes lifestyle clips, family vlogs and “good with me” videos, in the same style as the videos he once helped police cover in the Target Theft case.

Florida law allows police to have suspects suspected of torture without arrest. His first charges came from petit theft charges worth less than $750.
