Microsoft’s Next Windows 11 AI Gamble: Just Say “Hello Copilot”

More than a decade since Microsoft has tried to make talking to Cortana on PCs available with its voice process Copilot ai assistant Copilot ai with Copilot ai assistant in Windows 11. If you look at pictures of Hawaii, for example, you can ask that you found your Windows 11 PC where they were taken, advise you of the flight plan and even give you some advice on paying for an island vacation.
Microsoft’s promotional videos for Copilot features, set on Vamputer One weekend are about a dozen “punk,” making the process look seamless. One user asks Copilot to show them how to stream their music in the “best quality” environment, and the AI continues to highlight the exact location of the streaming settings in Spotify, while suggesting that they choose the infinite option. Someone asks Copilot to write a short biography based on their photo portfolio. Now Copilot is not just about searching the web or generating new AI creativity, making it easier for users to perform practical tasks without much effort.
Microsoft clearly strives for ease of use Star Trek Ship The computer, the dream that drove Amazon to invest billions in its Echo and Alexa devices. The difference with Copilot is that you can’t just talk to the speaker – Microsoft is also trying to make Windows 11 know what you’re doing on your screen. The “Hey Copilot” feature and the entire Copilot concept is cloud-based, so you’ll have to live with your desktop image data making its way to Microsoft’s servers. That includes the level of trust the company has lost with many users, especially after recalling Dirty, its first powerful AI feature.
It doesn’t help that many people are still concerned about the death of Windows 10 Support this week. Undeterred, the company insists that the “hey, copilot” login feature is buried in the Copilot app’s settings. (Of course, that can always change, especially if the company wants to consolidate engagement statistics over several years.)
Copilot Actions
(Microsoft)
I suspect it will be more difficult for users to swallow where Microsoft wants to take Copilot: Giving it the power to do Windows tasks itself. That’s the goal of Cocilot Copilot Actions, which was originally proposed as a tool that can perform tasks on websites. When enabled, Copilot actions can be triggered to handle bookable tasks, such as resizing and understanding a folder of images. If any questions come up, it can prompt you to answer them within the Copilot app. And since the Copilot action handles its work in the background, you’re free to do anything else you like on your computer.
In theory, Copilot’s actions feel similar to delegating a task to a real-life assistant — but like a human assistant, there’s always the chance that something could go wrong along the way. And it is not difficult to imagine that the feature is driven by nefarious malware on the ground, because it is basically a Windows script that looks better. Microsoft says it has tested Copilot’s actions “extensively” internally, and is rolling out the feature a bit to gather feedback.
Like “Hey, Copilot,” It’s completely log-in, and you can see everything Copilot does step-by-step in the Copilot app. Microsoft says that you will be able to jump in and take control of the Copilot action function at any time, as well as control the permissions of AI Agents in the user settings of Windows 11. The Copilot functions are also done in a contained environment, according to Microsoft, which allows for specific permission controls and the separation of the start time (so Copilot cannot affect your entire system above certain functions).
And as if we are already full of Copilot all over Windows 11 of course, Microsoft also plans to add a search function “Abuzi This company says that it is part of the mission to make the taskbar “a powerful hub” to carry out tasks, but I personally like to keep my Windows taskbar. Like everything Microsoft announces today, the AUST CoPILOT BAR will completely re-enter.
As someone who has been skeptical of Microsoft Copilot’s efforts thus far, I could actually see myself using “hey Copilot” if it worked as advertised. It sounds much more useful than the old SIRI voice commands, which were limited by simple language models from a decade ago. Microsoft also expanded the AI actions built into Windows 11, including new integration with Manus, an AI Agent that can do things like a website, and Filmra, which allows you to create AI videos directly from File Explorer.
The new “Hey Copilot” features and Copilot visual cues are available today on all 11 PCs with access to Copilot. Microsoft is also making the Copilot concept more widely available around the world today where Copilot is available. Copilot actions and the Copilot Taskbar query feature will “gradually” become available to Windows 11 Onisers, according to Microsoft.
