When white people say they want to burn you, believe them

“I love Hitler.”
“Stay in the closet, f*ggot.”
“I’m ready to watch people burn.”
Those aren’t telegraphed from some back-alley section here. They are the words of Young Republicans Who’s on track to become future careers, campaign directors, speechwriters, and elected officials. People who want power over policy, budget and bodies. And the next Corps in this country still insists that it attended as an embarrassing group discussion and not a promise of violence.
Calling this a “Group Chat Scandal” with shelf life is really a narrative, not an observation. Insufferable titles with resignations and chapter suspensions are just moral theater and the clothes that allow institutions to function while maintaining the background machine of white supremacy. The content of these messages – racial slurs, reading abuse, general obscenity – is not juvenile blasphemy. It is Tyranny’s roadmap and instruction manual on how to manage, punish and silence forever the haters.
But the media won’t call this.
They write about it as a decoration on the political children’s table, calling it “an embarrassment to the party discussion,” “judgmental remarks,” or “outdated,” or “a diversion,” as if nothing from the future of the Republican party. Meanwhile, JD vence and the White House attack like Bad Optics because they can’t afford to treat like anything else.

Admitting that in reality that would mean updating the obvious: This is not the edge. It is the basis of the Republic. It’s blood.
It’s Trump Ally Laura Loomer who calls Black Congloresswomen “ghetto bitches.” By Donald Trump Eating Out of Color Suracist Nick Fuentes, mocking disabled journalists, and calling black nations “Shithole Countries.” It’s Steve King asking why “white nationalism” is crazy. Tommy Tuberville refused to call the country racist.
It was Paul Leepage who said drug dealers were coming to Maine and “putting in little white girls.” It is Marjorie Taylor Greene who blooms Wildfires “Space Lasers.” It is Ron Desantis to block black history and call it “Intectrination.” It’s Mathe Gaetz who jokes that women who are pregnant to prevent pregnancy are worse. It’s Greg Abbott Abbott who signed the laws that put children in custody and take them away when migrants drown in the Rio Grande.
These young Republicans are not fired because their words are an embarrassment to the gop. They were fired because they were caught saying that the quiet part was out. Their punishment is not moral, it is administrative. They should have waited until they had offices, not microphones. Because this is how the President feels, how the party feels, and how millions of millions of voters feel. This is the logic that goes against every policy, every press conference, every “law and order” bite.
That same poison is what fueled the avalanche and mass deportation. It is a fiery book of anti-blackness, history and indigenous history. Increases anti-trans legislation colices frameworks and identities. Voter suppression and the gerrymandering of democracy itself. It is an attack on public education and on teachers who dare to speak the truth. And it’s fueling a growing appetite for political violence, from School Board meetings to the steps of the Capitol.
They can’t get rid of this rhetoric because IS Their Rhetoric, has simply been stripped of its public relations polish.
That is why the soft focus of the media is so dangerous. When they treat this as an insult instead of a signal, they are helping the white night of the blackout of journalism. All articles using the word – and robbery instead of violent, all the parts that met with the nazi quotient in response to “both parties”, all the anchors said “Republican distance themselves” instead of “Republican produce them, “propaganda turns into background noise. It takes away the intelligence of the country. It trains the public not to panic when it forms the throat.
What we are seeing is not a place of morality, it is practice. A generation of young nuns are learning to laugh at the annihilation so that they feel nothing when the policies come. And if history teaches us anything, it’s that the distance between laughter and anointing, between memes and murder, is very short.
This is the dress code of fascism for the dinner party in America: it imposes a goal, cleans up its language, and makes it a political party. Only mature conversations rip off the mask. Gop is not overly contagious; Extremsm is its DNA.
So the question is whether these young Republicans should step down. The question is whether this country will finally stop pretending that white supremacy is a limitation rather than an organizing principle of its politics. Because if we can’t even call Nazis Nazis when they’re wearing a Lapel Pin, then the next time they say, “I’m ready to watch people burn,” it won’t be discussed. It will be policy
Black people and all the other targets of this help need to stop debating whether these people “really mean it.” They said. When someone says they want to burn you, believe them. When they think of PASS Chambers, don’t call it a scam – Call it a promise.
We’ve spent too many generations giving white rage the benefit of the doubt, feigning surprise, misunderstanding, or “economic anxiety.” But every field, every rotting tree, every church bomb, every street car has already shown us what happens when we don’t take them at their word.
Nevertheless, we continue to hope. Hopefully the white can be changed. That white people will progress. That light that will betray its principles and its framework and the framework of neurological senses – Reflex that learns to equalize as danger, that causes response, that confuses justice with persecution.
And yet here we are again, watching a mature conversation 251 slurs typed without a doubt. Two hundred and fifty one times, they repeated their hatred. That is not an accident or an impulse. That sounds pretty slick to me. That is, origami is linguistic wrapped in violence. It’s a shared language, a ritual of initiation, an exercise in a brutal group. And the media still wants to ask if it represents “the edge.”
Chastity they do not obey. It goes back down. It appears. It adapts to survival. It will always be because it cannot be fixed. And these mature discussions are the next stage of evolution of the same ancient virus, spoken aloud, shared in visibility, and still described as “disapproval.”
The truth is, they told us who they are. They told us exactly what they wanted to do with us. Our Work Now To Believe – and pretend we intend to stay.
