A look at Prince Andrew’s antics and scandals that have plagued the royal family for decades
Andrew of Britain was forced to be stripped of the use of his remaining royal titles after recent revelations of his relationship with Jeffrey Jeffrey Epstrein proved his older brother, King Charles III.
Andrew’s arguments have tested the patience of the royal family for more than 40 years, causing embarrassing headlines, lawsuits and allegations that the prince, now 65, was using his position for personal gain.
Here are some of the episodes that bemoaned the reputation of the Queen Elizabeth II and finally forced her older brother to leave public life.
1984 – Andrew appeared for reporters and painted pictures while visiting a construction project in the Latts neighborhood in Los Angeles. Andrew said: “I enjoyed that. As he wiped his hands on the newspaper.
2007 – The prince sells his house in Sunninghill Park, near Windsor Castle, and news reports suggest that the buyer paid more than the asking price of 15 pounds for 15 pounds. The buyer is reported to be Titur Kulibayev, the son-in-law of Nursiltan Nazarbayev, the former president of Kazakhstan, who raised concerns that the agreement was an attempt to buy influence in Britain.
2010 – An Undercover reporter puts as rich Arab film Andrew’s wife, Sara Ferguson, apparently offering to sell access to the prince of 500,000 pounds ($670,000 at the current exchange rate).
2011 – Andrew is forced to resign as Britain’s top diplomat following the first reports of his links to Epstein. The official was facing questions about his friendship with Gadhafi, the son of Libyan hardliner Moammar Gadihafi, and his links to the gunman who was condemned by the Libyan Gun Sluggler.
July 2019 – Epsterin was arrested a second time on sex trafficking charges and later committed suicide in a New York Jail cell. The news has focused public attention on the allegations that Andrew had sex with at least one new exstein. Andrew denies the allegations.
Nov. 16, 2019 – Andrew tries to stop the flood of criticism by admitting to the camera smear by BBC reporter Emily Maitlis. A flashback to the interview where Andrew defends his relationship with Epstein, fails to show empathy for his victims and gives explanations for his behavior that many people find hard to believe. Andrew says he broke up with Epsterin in December 2010, a day that will come back to haunt him.
November 20, 2020 – Cubingham Palace announces that Andrew will stop all royal duties “for the foreseeable future.” Four days later, the official was stripped of his role as protector of 230 governments.
2022 – Andrew agrees to settle a lawsuit in New York against Favolief, who alleged that he was forced to sleep with Andrew when he was 17. While Andrew did not admit to being a victim of sexual harassment. Legal experts estimate that Andrew’s undisclosed settlement costs as much as 10 million.
2024 – Andrew’s arrest of an alleged Chinese Spy is revealed in court documents. The businessman and spy Spyved have been banned in the UK due to national security concerns. The security authorities were concerned that the man might abuse his influence over Andrew.
April 25, 2025 – Virginiafre dies by suicide in Australia, where she lived since 2002.
Oct. 12, 2025 – Andrew posted that Andrew sent an email to Exstein on February 28, 2011, more than two months after the official told Maitlis he also cut all his one-time friends. Andrew wrote an email after the media continued to report on the Epsterin Scandal, telling him that it was “good” and that he would “get over it.”
