President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he was “open” to meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un in South Korea during his trip to Asia.

“I would be open, 100%. I had a good meeting with him, Kim Jong Un,” Trump told reporters at the Air Force Base.

“They don’t have much phone service,” the President said. “They have a lot of nuclear weapons, but not a big phone service.”

Trump, who left for Asia on Friday night, told reporters they could “take the word out” that they were willing to meet a dictatorship. The President also responded to a question about seeing North Korea as a nuclear power.

South Korea’s Unification Minister Chung Dong-Young urged Trump and Kim to “take a bold decision,” according to Reuters, which reported that he spoke via the South Konhap News Agency.

A White House official noted Friday that Trump and the North Korean leader met during his first term in office.
