In news that is absolutely shocking to no one, the FBI sent a bulletin last month asking anger and law enforcement agents (ICE) to start explaining themselves when asked. What are you looking for? It’s just a simple case of exploiting the Ice Agents’ refusal to identify themselves to commit ROBBERERES, kidnapping and sexual harassment.

According to the wire, the FBI bulletin asks ice agents to verify their identity whenever they are asked by citizens to increase trust in law enforcement. “Ensure labor enforcement [sic] Identify yourself during work and cooperate with people who ask for additional verification, “it says. The Bulletin adds that there have been at least five incidents this year of impersonating Ice agents.
In New York, a group of men claiming to be Icegents entered a restaurant, tied up the owner, placed a garbage bag over his head before robbing the ATM. Two women in Brooklyn and North Carolina reported being sexually assaulted by men posing as Ice agents.

Federal laws require immigration officials to identify and state the reason for the arrest “as soon as it is practical and safe to do so.” The standard hasn’t changed since the codes were adopted in the 1990s, but advocates say it’s being ignored.
