The Trump administration reportedly stepped up to add partial snap payments in November amid the government shutdown
On Wednesday, November 5, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued an update on the cost of Snap 2025 benefits. In addition, the notices indicated that they will be reduced in November, benefits will be reduced by 35% in the month of November. Therefore, updating the Novemberment’s top share of Snap’s earnings at 65%.
“These reductions are effective immediately,” the notice said.
According to Newsweek, for example, a family of four receives less than $1,000 a month in snap benefits. In addition, with a 50% deduction, that family of four would have received less than $500. However, a 35% deduction now allows that same family of four to receive less than $600. It is important to note that each family’s payments will vary based on their household size and income.
As the shadow room previously reported, the update comes after the government officially shut down on October 1. In addition, the Trump administration initially rejected the shutdown. However, on November 1, a federal judge ordered the administration to intervene. This initially created the management to share the figure of 50%. Commenting, earlier this week, some thought that the program was scrapped after Trump was taken from social reality, and appeared to threaten action. However, the White House finally clarified the President’s words, in a shadow room.
At this time, it remains unclear where partial snap benefits will be paid, per USA Today.
FAA Cuts Flights to 40 Major Airports Amid Government Shutdown
Along with the financial impact of the snap, the government shutdown also brought cuts to federal workers and federal paychecks. This, now prompts the FAA to cut “air traffic by 10 percent at 40 major airports beginning Friday.” According to Newsweek, the move is intended to reduce “pressure” on air traffic controllers amid the shutdown. In addition, the decrease may “pass next week.”
Specifically, airlines are said to be preparing for “massive cancellations and wake-ups.” PER AP News, some of the airlines included in the cut are:
“Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International, Baltimore/Washington International, Dallas/Fort Fastise International, Newark Fentral International, John F. Kennedy International, Miami International, Philadelphia International, and more.”
