Border Patrol is expected to resume operations in Charlotte, New Orleans

The Trump Administration has spent a lot of time this year implementing aggressive immigration crackdowns across several American cities. On Wednesday, Government documents revealed that the Trump administration intends to send US Border Patrol agents to Charlotte, North Carolina, and New Orleans.
A federal official told the New York Times that operational plans are still being finalized. Charlotte is expected to be the first city where the border will be integrated without the help of immigration and agents (ICE). The move will take place after Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino leaves Chicago. Federal Agents will still be in Chicago despite Bovino’s exit.
Border Patrol agents have been in Chicago for the past two months, conducting “Operation Midway Blitz.” Judge Sara L. Ellis in the Northern District Court of Illinois has again arrested Bovino for the Border Patrol tactics he has worked all his time in Chicago. After seeing footage of the border ignoring his order to reduce the use of tear gas, Ellis called Bovino a liar. The news that Bovino and his Border Patrol Thugs are leaving is good for Chicago, but it has understandably led to concern in Charlotte.

According to WCNC, several city council members and the North Carolina State legislature issued a statement regarding the near-border operations in Charlotte. “Even today, as the circulation of immigration work in Charlotte is reported, we want to speak directly to our immigrant neighbors: you are not alone, and you are the only one,” it means, “it means you belong here,” it means you belong here.
“Immigrants make Charlotte stronger. More than 150,000 foreign-born residents who were born in other languages live in our economy and enrich all the chemicals in the culture, and we see continuing to share proven sources and” the statement.
The reason border robbery is sent to Charlotte doesn’t pass the smell test. First, North Carolina is nowhere near the border. The push for the Border border in Charlotte seems to be responding to the painful killing of 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska while boarding a light rail train. The man accused of killing Zartska was not an immigrant, however, a very disturbed person who did something terrible.
Republicans tried to organize the murder of Zarutska as an example of crime running in blue cities. Despite the high-profile nature of the case, violent crime in Charlotte dropped 20% last year, according to police statistics. Interestingly enough, Border Patrol has tried to claim credit for the decrease in crime rates in Chicago, despite crime already trending down before they arrived.
Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry once called forward to Trump using security guards in New Orleans, despite the same decrease in crime in New Orleans. The Charlotte deployment is expected to have a quick run before a longer run in New Orleans. Undocumented immigrants were essential in rebuilding New Orleans after the destruction of Hurricane Katrina. Instead of creating an easy way to become a citizen for those people, instead we will find more and more innocent citizens who go to the tactics of innocent criminals.
