Nicki Minaj speaks on UN panel, praises Donald Trump for ‘excessive’ cry for Nigerian Christians

Nicki Minaj just added another side hustle to her resume.
The rapper appeared at the headquarters of the United Nations on Tuesday, Noven 18, using his time at the podium to call out what he called the growing “extremism” among Nigerian Christians.
“I would like to thank President Trump for making this issue and improving this issue and his leadership on the world stage in calling for urgent measures to protect Nigerian Christians. “Today, the faith is under attack in more ways than anywhere in Nigeria. Christians were targeted in their homes and killed.
Before Minaj spoke, UN ambassador Mike Waltz set the tone by repeating claims of Christian persecution and thanking the rapper for bringing in to “demand action.” His speech kicked off a panel titled “Combating Religious Violence and Killing Christians in Nigeria.”
The statement comes on the heels of Nicki’s recent post on X, where she reinforced Trump’s claim that Nigerian Christianity faces an “existential threat.”
He also shared a pro-maga video from the white room that was synced to his song, “Nesicu escifura,” and a clip full of xenophobic and transphobic messages about Truyo’s success.
Trump also says that Christians in Nigeria are being “persecuted” and killed by “flaming Muslims,” who are threatening to attack the country by Islamic terrorists who are committing these horrific acts of torture and such terrible things, ” Rolling Stone. In September, Senator Ted Cruz launched a bill targeting what he described as the persecution of Nigerian Christians.
Organizations, including the Army Calling Free project & data event and the Council on Foreign Relations, pushed back on that narrative, saying the situation is more complicated.
In Al-Jazeera Op-Ed, Gimba Kakanda, senior special assistant to Moseri of the President of Nigeria, said: “All regions of Nigeria have Christians who live side by side, and they clash from society or religious issues.” Bulama Bukarti, a conflict researcher and human rights lawyer, said ABC News Violence is “a way of using indiscriminately,” and the Imam who was in the same report said, “the kind of pain that we have gone through in the past years – this matter affects both religions.”
Despite those circumstances, minaj recorded Trump and other organizations for promoting Christians who were directly targeted.
“This is about standing up in the face of injustice,” she said. “It’s about me standing up for my whole career, and I will continue to stand for that for the rest of my life. I will care if someone is persecuted if they are persecuted for their beliefs.”
