If you spend even a minute scrolling Tiktok, you may stumble across sharp tongues and quick wits Mecca Evans and Jamila Bell.
The creators behind the fast-rising podcast Ansured & Conducted be an unlikely duo; Part Pop Culture Savants, Part Social Racists, Part Attackers, And Totally Inappropriate.
Their podcast has 60,000 monthly listeners combined for humor, culture, and insightful commentary, and executives told Bosip how it all started.

It just happened that we had a podcast, and in just a week, we put everything together to make it happen.”

“I think, by nature, Jamila and I are very funny and funny,” Mecca said. “Whenever we’re just talking, chatting, I don’t think we can be serious for very long. That’s also a joke on the podcast.”

“When I entered the entertainment space, I always wanted to be comedy first because that’s what comes naturally to me. I feel like it’s easier to attack different topics when you come at it from a comedy perspective.”
As the conversation continued, Necca highlighted that the two are part of a growing wave of black women in comedy and culture.
“We’re in good trouble,” he said. “As black women, we have different isms in us, but everybody likes to laugh. So black people are surprised by the situations of black women who are creative and don’t laugh.”
He continued,
“It honestly feels like a privilege because in the last 30 years, there have been very few –
That clarity of humor is also shaped by the duo’s opposition to celebrity scandals. When asked which star needed PR help immediately, Jamila did not hesitate, naming Barch Barb as her top pick.

Mecca agreed but added another name, to replace a city girl involved in a previous social problem.
“JT. A lot of people bring JT in. With his situation with Cardi, it would be very disrespectful if he just dropped some songs if he just did other songs as opposed to doing the Twitter thing,” Necca said. “Because Cardi attacked you on wax first, when you respond with rap disses, it’s well received, and we don’t look at it like we’re dirty.”
On the flipside, these two share who they believe the Internet is completely playing. Jamila quickly chose Cardi B.
“He really understands the Internet. He keeps himself working even with a gap like this between albums. Even if he gets into certain situations, because it’s always been fun.”

“Zendaya works like an old-school celebrity,” she said. “We don’t know a lot about her personal life. She’s out, she’s healthy. The fact that she’s her age and she’s still holding on to Mystique is really cool.”
The audience always laughs not only at the comments of the POP culture but at the ear, sometimes the jokes of the forest come down from the machine sent by the fans. Jamila remembered one thing that is unforgettable.
“One of them sent a nudist to him,” he told Bossip.
Mecca clarified the chaos.
“He sent us the testimony of his member. He sent us a photo that should go with the story so that we can explain that these girls have been groomed.”
This couple is buying into the trust they have built up for times like this.
“They are very free to tell us their business even if it makes them look bad,” said Jamila. “It can get old – strong gousins.”
The creators also bring the authenticity of their growing list of celebrity guests. Akeem Ali and Karlous Miller recently joined, but their dream list is long.
“I would like to have a Palmer cake,” said Jamila. “I think it would be a really fun and exciting episode.”
The invitation to Mecca’s dream is the queen of Loatifah.
“He is always being watched because he has done everything he wants to do. I watch a lot of everything he does.”
As the interview comes to a close, both women reflect on the advice they would give their creative degrees.
“Find all the things you need, figure out how you want to help, and engage people who are more interested in the vision than the pay,” shared Jamila. “Podcasting is not very profitable at first. You have to put a lot of money, effort, and resources into it.”
Mecca emphasized the feelings.
“Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Not everyone is successful in getting it. Many people are willing to help.”
