In context, Kimora Lee has five children, with her “bonus son,” Jayden. Aoki and Ming, his eldest, are 23 and 25 respectively, and are Russell’s daughters. She shares a 16-year-old son, Kenzo Leeand actor Djimon Hounsou and a ten-year-old son, Wolf Leeand a convicted former investment banker Tim Leissner. In addition, he has a 16-year-old son, Gary Leewhom he found in Jamaica five years ago. Her bonus son, Jayden, has been under her since he was in the fourth grade, according to PEOPLE.
Kimora Lee Simmons told the digital magazine that there is no relationship between her and her three parents, including Russell. Instead, the mompreneur said she relies on her community, which includes family and friends. The former supermodel admitted that she has always been a “mom” and she loves it. However, he also said that he is the first parent of all five children.
“Normally I would say that I’m a co-parent, which is fine, but the kids are with me full time,” Kimora Lee Simmons told PEOPLE. “I’m definitely a first-time parent. It’s hard, but sometimes I don’t know what other people think. Boys are weird.”
Still, Kimora isn’t worried, saying her life has “never centered around a man. And, she expressed feeling “grateful” for her ability to be a present and independent parent.

Russell Simmons apparently picked up on Kimora’s comments and took to Threads on Sunday to defend himself. His post has since been deleted, but screenshots of it have gone viral. In a screenshot taken by Shade Room, Russell wrote:
“I gave you $50,000 a month for 20 years. I was your best/only friend. I am god to your other three children, until one day you stole my stock. I have been fighting for my children’s love and my bread since then. You threatened that if I sue you, I will never speak to my children again. There are two sides to every story.”
Despite the social distancing, Kimora Lee Simmons had words for Russell on Monday. From talking about the age of their daughters to talking about her sexual abusers, Ms. Baby Phat did not hold back.
My “girls” were GROWN WOMEN! You know this is a lie. Why are you typing from a place thousands of kilometers away in a country that does not need to be exported,” said Kimora, referring to his current residence in Bali. “Go and discuss and answer your accusers.”

According to a January 2025 Los Angeles Times report, Russell Simmons had to pay nearly $8 million to settle his secret agreements with three women. At the time, the LA Times reported that he owed Tina Klein-Baker $4.95 million, Toni Sallie $3 million and Alexia Norton Jones $200,000. He reportedly made separate deals with all three women in 2023, but denied wrongdoing after the woman filed injury and illness claims.
Then in 2024, three other women sued Russell with similar claims that he failed to pay the $3 million he agreed to. The documentary ‘On The Record’ examines some of these allegations, which include at least five victims.
