Tamar Braxton Reveals She Introduced Birdman and Toni to Each Other
During the interview, Sherri wasted no time in going to Tamar’s tea party. The host recalled allegations from Towanda Braxton that Tamar was dating Toni’s boyfriend. That televised accusation led to a tense moment between the sisters, when Tamari threw a drink at her sister. On the talk show, Tamar called the allegations “crazy.” She also jumped on the bandwagon with Birdman, present and past, when Sherri said people thought the allegations were about her.
Where did those rumors come from? That is stupid. “Well, Bryan didn’t say this, Bryan,” said Tamar Braxton, pointing to a picture on the screen of Toni and Birdman.
For context, the rapper’s real name is Bryan Christopher Williams. Tamar said that the real story between her, Toni and Birdman is to introduce married couples. He also clarified that he was platonic friends with Bryan (Birdman) and he knows the rapper because he dated one of his friends a long time ago. After the couple broke up, he continued to be friends with her because he and his brother Slim are said to have wanted to sign her to Cash Money Records. At that time, Birdman asked about Toni, but Tamar said that she initially denied interest because Toni was married to Keri Lewis.
“When Toni divorced, he was serious about her and went in,” Tamar said. He added that he was upset about Towanda’s allegations and clarified that they are not true.
“The reason it’s not true is that everyone knows that the person he was talking to was abusing him. That’s why it fired me.”

Aside from Towanda Braxton’s allegations, Tamar also fueled recent rumors about her and Birdman by appearing at the Cash Money vs. No Limit Verzuz match in October. The video showed him on stage, bouncing to the music and standing behind Birdman as he sang. And in another viral clip, he was seen wiping the sweat from his brother-in-law’s head for a few seconds.
“That’s my brother, now he’s my brother-in-law, he’s my blood now, he’s married to my sister,” said Thamari.
He also revealed that he, his sister and Bryan are “really close,” so much so that they received three phone calls. The ‘Love & War’ singer also explained that her sister is a “hip hopper,” so being at a Verzuz or YB concert would not be possible. However, for Tamar, that is her experience and her feelings!
“…[Toni’s] I won’t go to a YB concert without him, I’m going to go to Cash Money, No Limit Verzuz because I’m ghetto and I love ghetto…and so when I wiped his sweat, first it was water…it was like I wiped it,” said Tamar Braxton, apparently referring to the song.
This is not the first time he talks about his presence in the battle of Verzuz. A day after the fight, he deleted an X user who asked about his presence, instead of the rapper’s wife, Toni Braxton.
“Because she wouldn’t be here and she loves her husband so please hold her and OUR BROTHER for me!!!! TF!!??”
Recently, Tamar’s estranged boyfriend, Funky Dineva, also had people questioning the singer’s credibility, especially with the men she has taken. Funky accused Braxton of flirting and kissing Yandy Smith’s husband, Mendeecees. He denied it, and even threatened to take legal action, but Funky doubled down!

Back in October, Toni Braxton opened up about her marriage to Birdman in an exclusive interview with the ‘Today Show.’ She revealed that they have been friends for 25 years, before romance blossomed a few years ago. This year, they celebrated their one year anniversary after tying the knot last August. She and Birdman celebrated the wedding milestone by heading to an exclusive, off-the-grid retreat. Despite reports of Toni filing for divorce last year, in August, she posted a photo of her large, yellow diamond ring and wrote, ‘Happy Anniversary.’
