Venus Williams and Andrea Preti Tie the Knot
According to Vogue, the pair tied the knot with the first ceremony in Italy, which was reportedly scheduled for September 18.
“We had this dream of having our wedding in Italy. But we didn’t have enough time to do the paperwork—because I’m an immigrant, it would take about eight months. So we decided to have a second wedding,” Venus told the outlet.
According to the report, their second wedding was held in Palm Beach, Florida, over the weekend, although the entire six-day event reportedly started last week.
“We started on Monday. Serena gave us this beautiful boat gift, and she arranged all the food, everything. We had 10 to 12 of our closest family who were in town on the boat, and we were singing, dancing, gossiping, and just having fun,” Venus told the outlet.
On Tuesday, Venus held her bridal shower, on Wednesday, she and her loved ones enjoyed a night out in Miami, and Thursday included “sports day, with volleyball, tennis, dodgeball, wheel races and pickleball.” On Friday, the couple got married in court.
“I can’t describe how beautiful, peaceful, holy, joyful and uplifting it was. It was just a dream,” said Venus.
Then, the couple apparently took their self-written vows on Saturday, December 20.
“It was the happiest, most beautiful, sweetest day,” he commented.
