LARRY KUDLOW: A year later — promises made, promises kept

President Trump, one year after his inauguration, has made an extraordinary list of his accomplishments. Don’t get too caught up in the preparation, but the truth is promises made, promises kept. The theme was One, Big, Beautiful Bill – supply-side tax cuts, repeal, “drill, baby, drill,” free and fair trade, and the economy grows. America has the hottest economy in the world. We are hitting on all cylinders.

This is what the President said earlier today in the press room: “We have created a very high economic growth and America is growing,” and that “the fourth quarter GDP is on track to exceed maybe a growth of more than 5 percent. He added: “I think it could be 20 percent if we do it right. ” The President recalled that “under Biden, the real income decreased by $ 3,000,” while “the income of 0,000 increased by real $ 2,0.” $ 3,000, and in some cases, $ 5,000, which marks “a big difference.”

Mr. Trump also urged the media to “look at the gas. They have places in the country now, $1.99 a liter.” The president explained that “I call it a great big bill that brings the biggest tax cuts in history,” concluding: “We have the hottest country in the world.”

He chases away even the worst criminals. He made mincemeat with a left-wing tradition. He is doing well with the low energy prices that pervade the entire economy. We develop AI and advanced technology.

And we stand firm with our trading partners as we level the playing field. Rewarding success. Billions and billions of dollars flow from investments around the world. Stocks are rising. Inflation is falling, wages are rising. Russia and China are elbowed out in the Western Hemisphere. Israel has been saved, and regime change in Iran is on the way.

I won’t say it again: promises made, promises kept.

The problem with many voters and the lefty media is that they don’t understand how important this is. And why Mr. Trump is so popular in ways they can’t measure. Above all, he protects America, economically, militarily, and culturally. And that has a lot to do with this Greenland flap.

I thought Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent put it very well in Davos this morning when he spoke to Fox Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo: “I think the president has a very strong view about the security of the Western Hemisphere and he believes that the US should not compromise our national security. He believes that Greenland is important for the Golden Dome missile shield.”

Mr. Bessent added: “I think the president is worried that if there was an invasion of Greenland, the US would be asked to defend Greenland,” and said Mr. Trump “strongly believes that it should be the part of the United States to prevent conflict, rather than getting the US involved and exposed to a heated conflict.”

Well said Treasurer. As I tried to emphasize in last night’s opinion, the President is willing to negotiate. I know there is a little shock and awe in the stock market today, but to quote the president directly:

“The United States of America is immediately open to negotiating with Denmark and/or any of these countries that pose a serious threat, despite everything we have done for them, including heightened security, over many decades.”

He is willing to negotiate. Above all, this is a President who makes things happen. A year later. You are changing. He made this country a better place. He restored God and religion to our daily lives, as well as economic and military security.

And you know what? Over there in Davos, with all those left-wing smarty pants, corpocrat, globalists who are always bashing Mr. Trump, if they just shut their mouths for a while, he will make their countries better.
