Accor continues to expand in the Holy Cities with the new Novotel building in Madinah

Accor Hotels has unveiled its plans to launch the 200-key Novotel Madinah North, which will be located minutes from Al Masjid an-Nabawi, the second largest mosque and holiest site in Islam. It is scheduled to open in 2028.

Accor is already the largest hotel company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the latest hotel follows a deal with Madinah-based developer Arbah Taiba Real Estate Development.

Now entering the development phase, Novotel Madinah North will embody Novotel’s ‘Longevity Everyday’ environment – creating uplifting, well-designed spaces that support balance, relaxation, nourishment and meaningful moments throughout the stay.

The 200 modern guest rooms will be complemented by select amenities, including a restaurant, lobby, fitness center, and flexible meeting rooms. Its design and amenities make it well suited for business travelers, families and domestic guests alike.

Madinah continues to grow rapidly, welcoming more than 3.7 million visitors in the second half of 2025 alone, followed by a total of 18 million visitors by 2024. The new Novotel will directly address the growing demand for accommodations by expanding quality options for travelers, business travelers and domestic guests.

With this agreement, Accor strengthens its position in Saudi Arabia and the holy cities, adding to a year of important development achievements and expanding its important property pipeline to 6,700 keys.

Accor currently has 40+ branded hotels and residences across Saudi Arabia, comprising more than 17,000 keys across 15 brands, and more than 60 committed projects under development, totaling nearly 17,000 keys.

In the holy cities alone, Accor operates 14 hotels, representing 12,600 keys. This year saw significant growth in Makkah and Madinah, with new developments such as Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah (1,141 keys), Mövenpick’s new project with Al Qimmah Hospitality, and the upcoming ibis Styles Makkah Mesfalah and Mercure Makkah Shesha.
