Caroline Leavett: Ice arrests wife with family ties to White House Press Secretary

Study time: + minutes
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavett has repeatedly described Snow and her agents amid allegations of misconduct and human rights violations.
Now, Leavett is closer to the story than ever before with reports that the woman he shares the family with has been arrested by the agency.
Now multiple outlets have confirmed that Bruna Caroline Ferreira, the Brazilian wife and mother of Leavitt’s nephew, has been arrested.
Ferreira’s attorney, Todd Pomeraeau, tells CNN that the arrest took place near Boston on November 12.
Although not a blood relative of Leavitt’s, Ferreira is reportedly the mother of Leavitt’s 11-year-old niece.
Ferreira was previously engaged to Caroline’s brother, Michael Leavett.
The Press Secretary did not publicly respond to the news of the arrest.

“If it would have helped in any way, if he was willing to do anything to help us, you would have left by now. You have my phone number.
“I understand the policies and what they look like. But I also think that when it comes to family, you don’t care what you work for.”
“This person is the mother of Karoline’s niece, and they haven’t spoken in years. The child has lived full time in New Hampshire with her father since moving in with her mother.”

The piece describes the engagement between Mikael and Bruna as it happened, and that the couple lives together with their 8-month-old son.
There is also a picture of the family together.
Speaking to CNN, Ferreira’s lawyer revealed that she had accepted the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Act (DACA), which provides temporary protection from deportation to people who were brought in as children.
According to a spokesperson with the Department of Homeland Security, Ferreira was in the US illegally after overrunning a tourist visa that required him to leave the country in June 1999.
We will have more updates on this developing story as new information becomes available.
