Trump has appointed a lawyer to fight transgender sports cases in the courtroom

President Donald Trump has nominated attorney Justin Olson, of Kroger Gardis & Regas, LLP, to sit on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.

Olson is one of the attorneys who helped lead the lawsuit sponsored by the Independent Council against the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard, the Ivy League and the NCAA for its handling of the situation involving Twergender Swimmas lia Lia Olson is also listed as an attorney in the case of Icons against the Mountain Conference and representatives of San Jose State University for its handling of the situation of Trans Volleyball Player Fleming.

Trump noted Olson’s work on those cases in an announcement of a public truth hearing on Friday.

“It is my honor to nominate Justin Olson to serve as a judge in the Northern District of the United States for the District of Indiana!

“Hoosiers can count on Justin to always uphold the rule of law, and protect their constitutional rights more. Cheers Justin!”

Former swimmer Grace Estabrook, Margot Kaczorowski and Ellen Hollmquist filed a lawsuit on February 5, revealing that Upenn officials felt they would be justified, “and that by allowing Thomas to compete,” the institutions “were harmed and violated federal law.”

Thomas, a living man, who previously competed on the elite men’s swimming team from 2017-20 under the name will be Thomas. According to the lawsuit, Thomas was introduced by women’s swimming head coach Mike Schnur to the women’s swimmers during a team meeting at Wil 2019 as a colleague.

Each of the three plaintiffs says the experience left them “often emotionally traumatized.”

Thomas went on to win the NCAA Division I National Championship in the 500-yard freedowle, and earned three anmerican anversings in the NCAA CHAIKSHIPS CHAVIOMS in the Ivy League Championship.

Penn agreed With Trump’s expertise in June, he pulled the athlete’s swimming records from the women’s program, and adopted a policy of keeping natural men in women’s sports.

Meanwhile, in the case of SJSU, former women’s volleyball player Brooke filed the lawsuit in November 2024, along with other former and current players on the Mountain Mountain team. Slusser alleged that Mountain West and SJSU withheld knowledge of Flemioling’s natural prowess from him and other players while sharing space and hotel rooms with Fleming.

SJSU is currently under investigation by the US Department of Education regarding the situation.

In addition to his work on those cases, Olson has served as an assistant attorney for the Southern District of Indiana, civil division, and served as Public Health Fraud Coordinator.

At Kroger Gardis, Olson represents and advises clients on health care fraud and injury claims, False Claims Act claims, responding to government investigative requests, and negotiating and resolving government investigations.
