Chicago teachers who are absent 2-in-5 absences for 10 + school days

The Illinois State Board of Education revealed in a new report that 43.2 percent of Chicago Public Schools (CPS) teachers will enter 10 years or more in the 2024-25 school year.
At the end of October Every year, the Board reports the percentage of teachers who put in less than 10 items for reasons other than 10, emergency family leaves, or other reasons related to medical treatment.
The Illinois Policy Association, a free market think tank, reported that this “marks the lowest teacher attendance rate in CPS in nearly a decade.”

The center further explained to Fox News Digital that the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) should strive to improve the existing of their members.
“In the past 15 years, since it took the enthusiasm of the leadership of the Chicago Teachers Union, academics in the public schools of Chicago show that the leaders of Chicago get PRICICS outside the classroom outside the classroom, instead of what is good for children and families,” said Hana Schmid, policy researcher at the Illinois Policy Institute.
“CTU must address the problem of unemployment among students, and improve the attendance of their members. In their place, where CPS teachers need to be researched and deserve teachers who lead by example.” Schmidt said.

Despite the chronic teacher absence, CPS official enrollment continues to decline. CPS Superintendent MacQuline King announced in September that the current enrollment is 316,224, a 2.8% decrease compared to the last school year.
