If anyone knows about building a brand, it’s the Manning family.
Soon to be a third-generation NFL family, Peyton and Eli Manning can be found on every television screen, and their nephew, Texas quarterback Arch Manning, is currently the most respected college athlete in terms of NIL money.
“I think more than ever, athletes are really interested in business, and business guys like to hang out with athletes, and work together to make a living,” said Cooper Manning, Arch and Peyton’s father and Eli’s older brother, in a recent interview with FOX Business.

That’s why Cooper has partnered with Capital One and its Venture X business card to coach entrepreneurs on how to win on and off the field, translating the concept of sportsmanship into practical guidance for building and growing a business.
“I wear a few hats these days. I’m a business owner, I’m a father, I go to a lot of sporting events, and the Capital One Business Venture X Card has been amazing for me,” he said. “We’re traveling to a bunch of big cities for college in the fall, and last-minute stuff — getting hotels, rental cars, flights — so I’m not good with transportation, and they handle all the dirty work. So it was nice to be able to call a Capital One Business trip and say instead of two of us, four of us, you know, bringing the best kids and other great things to be friends. They bailed me out, so it’s been a great relationship with Capital One.”

“Capital One gets it,” he added. “They’re kind of a support base. They have all these premium tools and benefits and reasonable access that helps entrepreneurs and athletes get to where they want to be without getting caught up in all the red tape.”
Much of that red tape is social media, which can give a false impression of the realities of business. That’s why Cooper insists on the minds of new people trying to enter the business to simply trust their process.

“Social media is good, but some can be a distraction. And you have to put your head down and focus on what you’re doing. You can start thinking about things you shouldn’t do, then you take your eye off the ball and you have problems. So keep your head down, keep working, and I think it will work out,” he said.
