In season 2 of Mothers of Salt Lake Citythe leader of the church was seen to react clearly to the death of a 24-year-old man Maikel A. Enoke. The young mother died after being ejected from the car during a car accident, something Mary alluded to on the show while talking to Whitney and her children.
When the children asked if the church member was still alive, Mary replied, “No,” before changing the conversation to say she was “happy” to be there. (: 35 Marks)
Maikel’s father said he was angry as a sad person by “making light of the situation. “Now, that’s a teacher? No sir, not at all.”

What followed was a controversial transfer of power, Mary’s rise to leadership, and her marriage to Grandfather Robert Cosby Sr.
With every three episodes, the series gives a pulpit to former church members who have been silenced for years. Distant members, including the Enoke family, have stepped forward alongside Cosby’s relatives, including Mary’s sister Jefferson Odinaka and his cousin Dan Cosby and his wife, Kim. Their testimony is paired with the analysis of investigative journalists, bloggers, and cult experts that show what facseries describe as a common book involving credibility, control and spiritual authority.
The series also has a range of recordings of the early days from the early days of the faith and recordings of controversial sermons delivered by Mary and Robert Cosby Sr.
