It’s been an ongoing theme and/or topic of discussion for a while now:
Kody Brown is a bad father.
We’re not just making a statement here. Kody himself recently came out and admitted as much.
On the November 9 episode of Sister Wives, viewers learn that Kody has lost contact with at least one of his children.
At one point in this installment, Janelle Brown was asked if Koody even knew their daughter Eodest was pregnant.
“No, Maddie isn’t even telling her that she’s pregnant,” Janelle replied.
To be clear, this episode was posted many months ago. To be clear and emphasize the point above: Kody’s own daughter did not tell her father that she was expecting a child.
“You’ll find out,” Kody’s wife Kody added, did she have any reason to keep him in the loop about being a grandfather again, when it comes to Kody and Madison?
“They didn’t speak for a long time. It might have been two or three years.”
(TLC)You’re crazy, right? And it’s very sad.
However, it is not really surprising.
About seven months after Maddie welcomed her fourth child with her husband Caleb in March (the youngest Emilia joined Brother Emilia turned, 2), the reality star brought a reprimand from her famous father.
Sharing an inspirational quote on her Instagram stories about carefully deciding what’s “worth your energy” last month, the mother of four explained how she managed to get to that point.
When he DM’d one follower seeking advice:
“Your father said lies about you to the whole world to hear you teach your quickness.”
Kody Brown seems to be loving life in this photo. (TLC)Elsewhere, at the Sister Wives Season 20 Premiere, Madison broke down in tears over her lack of any relationship with her father.
“I might have to get out,” Brush said at one point in Confession with hitman Caleb Brush on the Sept. 28 episode, adding that things didn’t go well between him and Koody:
“You want your father to show. He wants to reconcile. I know I played a part and I’m angry because I’m still trying to learn not to be disappointed.”
Last November, Maddie explained that her decision to contact the parent stemmed from her insistence on calling all the shots in their relationship.
“He has no respect for boundaries,” she said on a 2024 episode of the True Person podcast. “And you have to play by his rules, and I don’t mind doing that.”
Kody Brown is an unlikable reality TV star in our opinion. (TLC)Referring to her as a “straight shooter,” Maddie went on to say that her father would resent her honesty, possibly because she wouldn’t be able to handle any kind of self-expression.
“You ask me a question, I’ll tell you what I think,” he said at the time.
“And he would get really angry and I’d be like, ‘I don’t know why you’re surprised here.’ And because of that it’s one of the reasons that I didn’t touch it because it was like, he didn’t like the mirror. “
Maybe, though? Is it possible? Is Kody starting to see a little light?
Kody Brown looks miserable here. (TLC)“I should have had a stronger relationship with my children,” he said of the episode of special powers: the hardest test in the world, adding:
“My failure was because I didn’t know how to be a good father and a good husband, and I thought I did. I thought I did it that way.”
If only Koody would stop putting the burden on his sons and daughters to fix their connection to him, who knows. Maybe there is hope for this family after all.
