Bodycam footage showed Ta’kiya Young refusing to get out of her car outside a Kroger store in suburban Columbus, Ohio, on August 24, 2023. Erick Moynihan approached the parked car after receiving a call about a possible alcohol theft. He partially rolled down his window and protested as both managers insulted him and tricked him into getting out. Bodycam video showed Grubb with his left hand on the car while pointing a gun with his right. It is still heard asking them, “Are you going to shoot me?” After that, he put in the silage and his car was slowly driven forward towards the grubb.

Ta’Kiya Young’s family responds to Connor Grubb’s ruling
Sean Walton, the attorney for the young family, called it “an American tragedy,” the result of a bipartisan legal system in the US that he had vowed to continue to pursue in the township and the police station.
“It’s sad and what it does is agree with the behavior that Conror Carrus displayed that day, and that’s not normal,” Walton said. “If you look at these recent police killings in Columbus, you have officers who are irrationally afraid without weapons involved or people who are acting with very little morals who are rising up to kill.”
In the meantime, Takiya’s grandmother, Nadine Young, has taken over raising her great grandchildren, who are now 8 and 5 years old. He fell into the hole at the discovery, shouting, “It’s wrong! This is wrong!” The judge then told Carmb Garbb that he was free to go.
