More Details About Brian’s Lawsuit Against Will Smith
Brian King Joseph filed a complaint against Will Smith in the California Supreme Court on Dec. 30, according to PEOPLE. He also included Smith’s company, Treyball Studios Management Inc., in the lawsuit. In the filing, Brian claims that Smith “intentionally groomed and groomed” him for sexual exploitation after inviting him on a 2025 world tour, ‘Based on a True Story.’ From there, Brian says a series of traumatic events took place in March 2025, when Smith’s album was released. Another incident allegedly involved an unknown person entering his Las Vegas hotel without permission. Although nothing was forced, Brian says he felt “threatened with sexual violence” after receiving a handwritten note that read, “Brian, I’ll be back… and reportedly signed “Stone F” and was marked with a heart.
The violinist says he allegedly found other things that shocked him: wipes, a bottle of beer, a red backpack, and HIV medicine with someone else’s name on it. But that’s not all; in addition, he saw an earring and discharge papers from a stranger. These things made him afraid that a stranger might return to his room to commit sexual acts.
In his case, Brian says he informed the hotel staff about the break-in and showed them the things he found in his room. He says a member of Will Smith’s tour management team insulted him and fired him. INDIVIDUALLY, the tour later brought another violinist to replace him. It is not clear whether Brian plans to seek financial compensation, but he said the alleged incident in March 2025 caused him great distress and resulted in “economic loss, reputational damage and other damages.” He also says the termination caused PTSD and other mental health issues.
Will Smith’s Lawyer Breaks Silence on Allegations
Allen B. Grodsky, Will Smith’s attorney, spoke to PEOPLE about the lawsuit. He and Smith denied Brian’s claims. Grodsky also told the media that they are working to ensure that the truth comes out.
“Mr. Joseph’s allegations about my client are false, baseless, and absurd,” Grodsky said in a Jan. 1. “They are absolutely denied, and we will use all legal means available to address these claims and make sure the truth comes out.”
