JANE JARED: Merry Christmas! Tell us more about Liv and what it was like to get inside her mind for this movie.

HUNTER KING: Thank you! Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you too! I absolutely loved this script and started playing Liv. I think most of us have been in the same situation as Liv. When you’re in a relationship and it’s good at first, but then maybe things start to change? People get in their own way sometimes, and it takes both characters looking inward to see what they could do differently to help their relationship get where they want it to be.

JJ: Liv is hosting Christmas this year. Have you managed the holidays before? Is that what you enjoy or would you like to be a holiday visitor?

HK: Last year, my now boyfriend and I hosted Christmas in LA with my family and it was so much fun! Since all of his family lives in Utah, we switch off where we spend Christmas every year. But we had such a great time hosting and playing games that we’re actually hosting Christmas again this year! Although, I love being a vacationer too. My sister excels at making the perfect holiday cocktail so her parties are always fun. But I will say, whether I am a host or a guest, I always wash the dishes. It’s one of my favorite things. Which as I say that, I realize how weird it sounds.

JJ: Liv and Daniel keep a big secret from their families. What’s the biggest secret you’ve ever kept that you ended up not being able to keep?

HK: I’m trying so hard to think of the biggest secret I’ve kept, but I can’t think of it? I am so close to my family that I feel like they know everything about me! Although my first tattoo I got at 18 was definitely a secret I kept from my Mom for as long as possible. I have since removed that one. It was very bad. So, I understand that I don’t want to show him as long as I did.

JJ: Was this your first time working with Evan Roderick? What was it like as a scene partner and how did you guys develop your relationship, going from exes to rekindling that love?

HK: Evan Roderick it’s the best! Indeed. I feel like we became friends instantly. He is kind and considerate, and that really shows in the way he is as a scene partner. We are so excited for this shoot, I can’t wait for people to see it!

JJ: You will be returning to Kansas City for the second year of the Hallmark Christmas Experience. Tell us about what happened last year and what are you looking forward to this time?

HK: The Kansas City Hallmark Christmas Experience is a truly magical few days. I had a great time last year meeting Hallmark fans, hearing their stories, and even getting to share some moments with them. It really is such a bond. I just remember thinking while I was there how grateful I am to be involved with a network whose viewers are kind, compassionate, and genuinely happy people. We feel their joy when we meet everyone and you leave feeling like you just made 100 new best friends. I’m so excited to go again this year!

JJ: Is there a Hallmark actor you haven’t worked with yet that you’d like to do a movie with next?

HK: Oh, this one is hard to answer because I have so many I would love to work with! I’ve become friends with so many of them and I just love them all so much that it’s so hard to pick just one! I mean I would love the opportunity to work with her Nikki DeLoach or Ashley Williams. I think they’re both funny actors, and they’re incredibly talented. But there is so much more! I honestly want to call 25 people! But I have to include my friend Wes Brown. My boyfriend is friends with Wes and I think he is the greatest!

JJ: You should appear as a guest judge Finding Mr. Christmas this season. How was that experience and did you enjoy working with the contestants?

HK: I was very happy when I received a call from Jonathan Bennett they asked me to be a guest judge on their show Finding Mr. Christmas. I’ve never done anything like that before and I had the best time. Everyone was so kind and welcoming that I wanted to ask Jonathan if I could stay the whole season! Not to mention spending the day Melissa Peterman it was a dream and it will always come true. No one makes me laugh harder.

JJ: What are your plans for the holidays this year?

HK: This year we will be hosting Christmas and I am so excited! And lucky for me, the 4th weekend of the KC Hallmark Christmas Experience is right before Christmas, so I feel like I’m getting a double Christmas this year!

JJ: Are there any holiday traditions that you enjoy doing every year?

HK: Yes!! So since my fiance’s family all live in Utah, we wanted to bring their culture to LA to make sure it still felt like home to Chris. His dad Steve is big on playing one minute to win games, so we decided to start that too! Let me tell you, they are so much fun! When we hosted Christmas last time, I think we played 10 different games? We got prizes and everything. It’s honestly my favorite tradition now and I look forward to it all year.

JJ: We saw that the last dates for your wedding have been released. What can you tease on your big day?

HK: The big day is coming! We are still finalizing the planning, but I am very happy to marry the love of my life. You are my biggest supporter and cheerleader, and I couldn’t ask for a better life partner. The icing on the cake is about to make it to Italy with our close friends and family.
