‘I Love You: Review: Rachel Sennott’s Comedy is a very serious comedy

When I think of Los Angeles, I think of Rachel Sennott.
When his alien premiered in New York, he was inexorably linked to LA in my mind because of the movie trailer set on Spinning of Spin A bling ring), the other I’m in danger of quoting every time it dies where it dies where it is said LA This Video and Bodies of Themes and Bottles. It seems likely, then, that Sennott will return to La for his first outing as Series Creator, at HBO I love you.
What’s new streaming this week? (Oct. 31, 2025)
At first glance, I love you It seems to be changing the same dynamic as the movies Sennott moved in 2019. The trailer promises the glamor of beautiful groups, celebrity embarrassment, and even a woman who smokes cocaine. (Yes, the thumping techno soundtrack is also involved.) But it’s been six years since Senott first announced, “What? What! And now there’s more to say, and more space to say it. As a result, I love you It proves you’ve tapped into the hilarious source of battling the insecurities of trying to have it all, all told through the eyes of TV Friend’s worst new crew.

At the center of this group of friends is Maia (Sennott), an assistant at a PR firm who promises to move up the ranks after years of hard work. His two objects in the city are Charlie (the original Jordan), a blunt stylist, unattached, and Alani (a true white), the daughter of a respected and brilliant director.
A wild card disrupts the group in the form of Tallulah (Odessa A’zion), Maria’s best friend from college. The couple was originally intended to leave New York for La together, but Tallalah chose to stay behind. Now, she’s a girl influencer who is in line to take fame to the next level, and Maia feels stuck.

Tallulah’s arrival to La’s surprise reminds maia of her mistakes, and her first meeting with Tallan reflects that. These two hidden places have cunningly hidden the babbs from each other and cooked up lies designed to make them see that they are colder than they are. Everything is wrapped up in the great friendship of Pipi, but the crack is CRAILED, and Sennott and Azioni will tie you up with all the compliments set.

Despite the conflict from years ago, Maia and Tallan realized that they had been putting up walls and using their insecurities in their friendship. They decide that the only way they can truly do it is together: Tallulah as a talent and Maia as her Manager. So begins the wild ride of UPS and the decline of the influence of stardom.

Given that content creators are now an integral part of the entertainment world, I love you It gives a glimpse into the under-the-radar tricks behind the desirable images that can revolutionize your feed. Product deals, talent teams, crisis management … this is just the tip of the iceberg I love you should contribute, by Sennott to strengthen each element of the Creator’s economy of laughter. The scene of Tallah fighting a tiktok with the original creator of Quenlin BlacKwerwell proves to be alive and kicking, as the show’s version of Blacwell demands Kubrick-Ian levels of authenticity.
How content creators define Hollywood’s power structure
However, I love youEmbracing Internet culture rarely feels weak. Outside of a photoshoot or two, we haven’t seen much of Tallulah’s content. Choice means that I love you You don’t have to follow trends that may feel out of date between production and the release of the show. Instead, it’s up to Azion’s performance to sell the idea of ”Tallulah as an influence,” and it’s working. A’zion bursts with the kind of unfiltered charisma and self-assuredness that marks the online It Girls of today, with Sennott’s often frazzled, tightly wound work as Maia serving as the perfect counterpoint.
I love you It features TV’s best friend group and reunion.

In addition to Sennott and A’zion, first and Whitaker did a great job as Charlie and Alani. The quartet in the center of the universe has an incomparable chemistry, conveying messages well without sacrificing the individuality of each character. I see people saying that the character in the group of friends is now, the way they have done other HBO heavy Sex and the home and Girls.
The initial buzz surrounding the show led to the Girls It’s a comparison, and that’s pretty tight. There’s such a bad thing about this spoiler in the friend group, and the characters tend to be so self-centered, to the point where I already think people are attracted to it. I love you“Unlikable” characters. (There are actually What’s Unfavorable Yet? Or are they so related that it forces you to examine something about yourself?)
The fun doesn’t stop with I love youAn important friend group. Leighton Meester is charming as Maia’s boss Allyssa, and Josh Hutcherson provides basic balance as Maria’s boyfriend. The two also represent the two pillars of Maia’s life: Alyssa emphasizes her passion and the glamor of the LA Hustle, while Dylan provides a break from the chaos of Maria’s career. I love you Never demonize Maia for seeking a rewarding career, but certainly question how this career (and the craziness of LA in general) is impacting her connections with others.
I see without preaching, and satirical without being without doing no-la eficionados, I love youThe first season is one of the strongest entries in the 2025 crop of zillennial sitcoms, including the likes of Overcoming and For adults. For Sennott fans and newcomers alike, I love you it has the hallmarks of subsequent comic recognition.
I love you Premieres Nov. 2 at 10:30 PM et on HBO and HBE max.
