Jade and Anthony Burrill Team Up to create a ‘rescue’ youth music roots T-shirt

POP SUSTERERATRICE NUSTERERSATER NOSTIMER Anthony Burrill has joined forces with youth music, the youth movement of UK music, to create two T-Shirt designs.

T-shirts support donation Free the roots The Campaign – a £1 million fundraising drive to protect Grassroots music projects across the country. Available through estress for £30, all profits will go directly to community-based projects where young people make, learn and share music. T-shirts have already been made by supporters including rizzle kicks’ Jordan Stephens and DJ Jodie Bryant.

Anthony Burrill’s design features his signature signature, Letterpress typography, while Jade’s design is written in her own handwriting (which boyfriend Jorden Stephens was dead on tattooed for a reason). Both T-shirts capture the public outcry of the campaign to protect grass-roots spaces that nurture aspiring talent.

With the festive season approaching, youth music hopes that the t-shirts will be accepted as thoughtful gifts that give back, supporting the opportunities of the next generation of music makers.

Jordan Stephamens said: “Everyone has the right to create. We need to cultivate social spaces and that’s why I love this campaign so much. As she is my sweet girlfriend [Jade Thirlwall] Its handwriting is saved as a tattoo on me and on a shirt. Every T-shirt helps the future. Free the roots. “

The T-shirts aim to raise awareness of the radical vision of the Grassroots Music industry, which is currently in a fractured state. Without urgent funding, access to local music projects will continue to decline, especially for young people from reduced incomes.

  • 41% of grassroots youth music projects are at risk of closure – up from 24% by 2024
  • 54% of youth funded partners have a waiting list due to lack of resources – up from 50% by 2024
  • Youth music currently supports less than one in five (18%) funding applications, leaving 260,000+ young people without opportunities to make music
  • The financial situation of 41% of youth funded partners are expected to stumble in the next year, with 28% uncertain about their future

Youth music Free the roots The campaign joins the nation to save Grassroots music, aiming to raise £1 million, which will be matched pound-for-pound to unlock $2 million in essential funding for more than 18,000 young people.

Jodie Bryant said: “Grassroots Music is the basis of the whole music industry – This is where some of the most interesting artists find out how hard they want to be – the fans are hard. They need to be protected and the job is protected, that’s why we need this. That’s why we need this Rescue the Roots!”
