After Charlie Kirk was shot and killed last month, countless figures in the community shared their thoughts, and many got really emotional when discussing the situation.
One of those celebrities is Jamie Lee Curtis, who broke down in tears while talking about Kirk on Marc Maron’s Podcast.
Many were surprised by Curtis’ words, given the fact that he has a trans daughter and has long been an outspoken advocate for LGBT rights.
Now, the Oscar winner explained his words and clarified that he did not actually intend to praise Kirk.
Jamie Lee Curtis says she never complimented Charlie Kirk
“His anger is not confident that I meant it as well as I wished him well – as I spoke of him in your own way, which I was not;
“And so it was a misstep, which is a pun, but not. In today’s binary world, you can’t hold two opinions at the same time,” he went on to add:
“I will not be Jewish and I absolutely believe in Israel’s right to exist and at the same time reject the destruction of Gaza. You can’t say that, because you’re tired of having the mindset of, ‘I might disagree with those thoughts.'”

Curtis eventually shot back at the interviewer by suggesting that he felt the need to ‘take care’ of his public speaking.
“I don’t have to be careful. If I had been careful, I wouldn’t have told you what I told you,” he explained. Adding:
“I was just like, ‘Hello, Welcome. I’m gone, you’re banana bread. Here’s my dog. Here’s my house, Blah, Blah, Blah. I can’t be who I am right now.'”

But I believe he was a man of faith, and I hope he was still a man of faith, and hearing one week after Kirk died, he added:
“Even if I find how disgusting his views were to me, I still believe that he is a father and a man and a man of faith, and I hope that what ‘communication with God’ is that he heard that.”
As page six progresses, Curtis faces immediate backlash on social media.
“You don’t agree with almost every point you’ve heard about him, but do you believe him to be a man of faith? People who want to kill themselves by trying to please the sides,” one user.
“Jamie- History is full of men who have done horrible things in the name of ‘faith'” one wrote.
This page The difference The interview marks the first time that Curtis has responded to this criticism.
