Enter it and find yourself in the heart of Montmartre in 1896 – a land of smoke, song and rebellion. The clink of glasses, the smell of absinthe, the music that wakes you up in the night.
Welcome to Chat noir!where lost property invites the audience to step back into the birthplace of cabaret for an evening of art, absinthe and mayhem.
In the middle of the story we stand in Rodolphe Salis – the Real-Life Proprietor of Le Chat Noir and the sisters of its most famous cabarets – as he prepares his last reading – as he seeks the glory of the last love, and wishes to torture love and madness. Played by the ‘Dandy King of Cabaret’, Joe Morrose, Salis is a man who burns ideas, works between anarchy and art, to chase the last minute pass before the curtain.
