Although past presidents have played a major role in the Olympics held on US soil, there are signs that Trump wants a more intense role in the games, which will take place in his last year as President.

In August, he signed an executive order naming him the chairman of the White House Task Force on the 2028 Games in Los Angeles. The President views the games as “an opportunity for the United States to show the uniqueness of the American world,” according to a statement from the White House. Trump, the administration said, “He is taking every opportunity to show America’s greatness on the world stage.”

Trump at the time noted that he would agree to send the military back to Los Angeles to protect the games. In June, he sent the national guard and the United States to the city Amid Increase the Actions of Other Ififications, a push back from Mayor Karen Bass.

Wasserman attended a White House signing in August and thanked the “reliability” of organizing the Olympics, which he said was like hosting seven good dishes a day for 30 days.

Rerserman told the President at the time: “He has helped every step of the way. “With the creation of this Force, we have opened that opportunity to increase our planning and bring the biggest games of all and, yes, the biggest of all to our nation, always.”
