The 432 Park Ave Facade has hundreds of cracks that suggest safety

The facade of 432 Park Ave. – One of the tallest residential buildings in the western hemisphere, has been damaged by hundreds of Crackis, according to a total of wind and rain resistance, construction reports and court filings obtained by the New York Times. Engineers warned that if the problems are not addressed, then the building could end up being a safety or security hazard for pedestrians walking below, according to the report. Thousands of pages of court documents, public records and private communications between building occupants, reviewed by members of the development team, engineers and buildings were concerned about concrete even before they parted ways with construction. The city contends that the most recent tests revealed that its facade is safe. A spokesperson for the 432 park also told Fox Business that the claim is the building is unsafe.

This building was designed by Rafael Viñoly and rises 1,396 feet above the park ave. Between 56th and 57th streets. It is described as a common creative collaboration made up of incomparable Palladian rooms “rooms with the highest engineering, reliable materials and diverse planning,” according to its website.
The Department of Buildings of New York City, said that buildings of more than six buildings are subject to the requirements of the inspection program of the Department of facades (Qewi), and require that the owners of the buildings be re-inspected for at least five years. Those inspection reports are required to be filed with the Department of Buildings and made public.

The most recent facade inspection was filed on April 15, 2025, and showed that the park’s 432 exterior walls are “safe with a repair and maintenance plan” (jump). In 2022, an inspection found unsafe conditions during an inspection of the building’s facade, according to records obtained by Fox Business. But, as required by law, the inspector notified the Department, which filed an unsafe notification in October 2022.
The Department said the owners of the building are making subsequent repairs to address these unsafe conditions. A new report was filed in February 2023 showing that the building’s facade was in a state of disrepair.

The department told FOX Business that none of the parties involved have any new information showing the building’s structural integrity or safety. The Department is also aware of any unsecured conditions in the building facade that require pedestrian protection measures.

A spokesperson for the 432 Park Park told FOX Business that the claims of collapse are disputed by the Board’s own engineers, who confirmed the facade as purmp.
The spokesperson for the company noted that the design team, the sponsor, the contractors “and each of their respective experts do not agree with the unreasonable allegations of the Board and are also resolved that this should be resolved.”

The building also said that the Board “neglected to follow the facade preservation plan” that needs to be replaced with a male protection solution to extend the relative guarantee.
