On Friday, New York State Attorney General Letitia James pleaded “Not Guilty” to the charges of fraud of the loan union while in Virginia.

“My faith is strong, and I have this faith in the justice system and the Law, and I have faith in America,” James added. “There is no fear today.”
Letitia James is one of several political opponents Trump has brought down the doj against. His beef with James comes mainly from the fact that he always takes responsibility for his wrongdoings and gets more defeats against him. In 2022, James began several investigations into Trump’s financial dealings in New York. His work eventually led to Trump and his organization being found responsible for fraud and being fined $527 million.
Calling a case against Letitia James Shaky is an understatement. Former attorney Erik Siebert Erik Siebert was pressured to resign by President Donald Trump because of his refusal to file charges against Jacob. ABC News reports that the prosecutors who led the investigation into the experience of Letitia James found that the evidence gathered undermined the deception of the accomplices. Their investigation found that any financial benefit he would receive from these alleged items would be about $800 a year to buy at home.
Additionally, the vague language in the Federal Revenue Revenuations loan guidelines has prosecutors concerned that they will not be able to prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt. The optics of the case became more unpleasant for the Trump administration when it was revealed that the bank documents revealed that the secretary of the Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent made the same claims made the same claims made the cases like doj Jaing.
Trump proceeded to replace Siebert with his lawyer, Lindsey Haligan, who could do many things, but he’s pretty sure it’s not one of them. As a result of that exchange of documents, Jacob’s lawyers asked for an order prohibiting prosecutors from talking to the media about the investigation and materials related to the court case. So to be clear, President Donald Trump fired the people who told him that the charges don’t hold weight, they replaced them with love that can’t know, and somehow they think this will get him popular. How Trump doesn’t realize that he might be willing to take one of the most unnecessary, uncharacteristic L’s is beyond me.
I, for one, am very hopeful to see this Letitia James notch and another legal victory against Trump.
