In their reviews, both expressed regret for their initial response to the comments and acknowledged the harm caused by the racial comments. Huda apologized directly to Olandria in his statement and announced that he would donate to the NAACP.

“I want to be clear that I do not condone or condone anyone using such language,” he wrote. “I strongly encourage each person to be responsible for showing deeply through their words and the damage they have caused.”

Louis also shared his perspective as a black man, writing:
