Massachusetts school member dies after being accused of assaulting students

A 53-year-old member of a Massachusetts school has died after being punched in the chest by a 14-year-old student during an incident inside the Bristol County Attorney’s office.
The district attorney’s office confirmed to FOX News Digital that on Wednesday at 6:55 pm, a 14-year-old student tried to leave his dorm building in Swansea, Massachusetts, without permission.
As employees, including 53-year-old Amy Morrell, and other employees intervened to stop her, the student allegedly kicked Morell in the chest.
A staffer who came down and worked immediately performed CPR and called 911, the DA’s Office said. Swansea Emi took him to hospital, where he spent the night in critical condition. The next afternoon, Morreell was pronounced dead. Authorities have not released an official cause of death.

A 14-year-old student is charged with assault and battery causing grievous bodily harm and death on Thursday at the Falm Juvenile Court. The investigation is being handled by the Swansea Police and Massachusetts State Police and the Bristol County DA’s office.
According to Meadowridge Academy, the school is a residential treatment school in Swansea that serves young people aged 12 to 21 with behavioral, mental or pain-related challenges. It is located about 50 miles south of Boston.

In previous years, Meadowridge examined the report of the Disability Law Center, which found high incidences of abuse and neglect between 2014 and 2016. However, the report took corrective action, revising surveillance protocols and improving staff training and improving staff training and improving staff training and improving staff training.
A spokesperson for Meadowridge Academy told FOX News Digital that the community is “deeply saddened” by Morell’s passing, and that support services are being made available to both students and staff.
“Our condolences go out to Amy’s family at this difficult time,” they said.

Friends and family described Morryll as very dedicated to his role, someone who ‘loves his job.’
“It never crossed my mind. Never thought about it. I couldn’t believe it when I got the call today,” Andrew Ferruche told WCVB-TV.
