OSMO Action 6 by OSMO 6 is the first Action Cam with versatile intelligence

DJI has released its third action cam in less than four months, the OSMO 6 action It also has a new, square sensor (like the one we saw in the OSMO 360) that makes it easy to reduce the video of Social Media-Medicals Aspect Ratios. I’ve had the OSMO 6 in action for a few days and it looks impressive so far.

Instead of the fixed F / 2.8 as before, OSMO ACTION 6 offers FLE F / 2.0-4.0 Altorture, which offers several advantages. At F / 2.00, it allows twice as much light as before. That enables a higher shutter speed in dim conditions, which reduces motion blur that can damage image quality and stability. It also offers depth of field to help distinguish the subject from the background. On sunny days, meanwhile, changing the aperture to F / 4.0 allows you die The shutter speed so the video looks a little more staccato and more natural.

Oddly, DJI doesn’t let you fully control F-STOP, though. You can choose a fixed aperture at F / 2.8, or auto adticure with a range of isos, which varies from F / 2.0 – 4.0 up to F / 2.8 – 4.0. That’s unfortunate, as it would be nice to be able to choose a fixed aperture, for example, to have a shallow depth of field for images. (Note that you can select F/4.0 Fixed and get a “Starburst” pattern in the bright parts of the image.)

Action 6 has a new square sensor, 1 / 1.8 x 9.8mm), too. It doesn’t increase the resolution as some people hoped, but it allows to get more options for the measurement. As in action 5, the video can be shot up to 4K 120 FPS, or 4K at 60 FPS in the high mode of the day. However, it now offers a custom 4K mode that allows you to capture 3,840 x 3,840 square footage at 60 FPS, investing in full 4K in both horizontal and vertical formats. It also supports 4:3 4K (3,840 x 2,880) up to 120 FPS with options for more sharpness when shooting slo-mo.

The new sensor is also much larger than the 1 / 1.3-inch sensors in the OSMO Action 5 and the 1 / 1.9-inch sensor in the GOPPro 13. That, combined with DJI’s D-Logm and 10 powers, should make the footage from the OSMO Action 6 easy to get used to, even on high sun days.

DJI has taken a page from Fujifilm by introducing the film tone function to get six different looks out of the camera, including “cool tones,” sweet tones and “pleasant skin tones.” ” OSMO ACTENACE 6 also offers 2x arbitrary zoom (digital zoom, effectively), portrait mode and subject center and tracking. Finally, the new “wide” mode gives you a wide field of view without bad separation in the corners.

For close-up photos, the action 6 is available with an optional macro lens, and a FOVs booster lens that increases the field of view from 155 to 182 degrees.

From my testing so far, the low light video quality looks much cleaner and more accurate than the Action 5

There are a number of improvements. DJI has improved the internal storage to 50GB from 47GB before, so you can shoot without a memory card, although a MicroSD Slot is available. As before, it is 20 meters (66 feet) of water itself, or almost 200 meters with a water-resistant case. And on top of voice control, action 6 Now support touch again. With 1,950Mah Extreme Battery Plus as before, the shooting time between cases is 4 hours 1080p and 2 hours 4K, both with ROCKesteady 3.0 Durability enabled and screen.

The OSMO Action 6 is compatible with DJI’s growing line of accessories, such as selfie sticks, bicycle, helmet and body attachments and more. However, the company developed its own quick-release adapter in the leak-latch system (first introduced in the OSMO nano) that “can be connected individually without mechanical limitations,” the company said. That’s a huge quality of life improvement in old mountains, which can only be accommodated in one way. That said, the old places are still compatible with the new camera and the Vice-versa.

So what about availability? It seems that, as with OSMO 360 and OSMO NANO, that the action of DJI 6 will not be available in the company’s US store, but it will be sold on Amazon, but it will be sold on Amazon, B & H Photo Video and other third-party sellers, with a price TBA. In Europe, the OSMO ACTEAS 6 is now available in the DJI store and Amazon for € 379 for the standard combo with one battery, or € 479 for the adventure combo that includes three batteries.
