‘Put Your Pants Up’: ICE Agents Forced Into Women’s Restroom During New York Attack

Good, good….

You know MAGA Conservatives always pretend they are afraid of trans women, and that their anti-trans fearmongering is about protecting women’s bathrooms from trans men. However, it seems that if the Conservatives are really concerned about a woman’s ability to use the bathroom safely without the impending fear of men coming in to harass them, they should focus on immigration agents.

According toNewsweek, back in September, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents forced their way into a women’s bathroom and told an occupant to “pull up your pants and get out” during a raid on Nutrition Bar Confectioners, a nutrition bar in Cato, New York. Police body camera footage released this week as part of ongoing law enforcement actions involving the raids shows agents walking through the facility, ordering employees out into the hallway.

From Newsweek:

At one point, agents tried to pry open the door to a locked women’s restroom, and after it wouldn’t open, they forced entry and served a warrant, and video shows.

Workers with different immigration statuses were among those arrested; Legal representatives of some of the detainees said that at least one person with a work permit was fired without authorization to work.

The Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Syracuse received information alleging that Nutrition Bar Confectioners, a granola bar manufacturer located at 12351 State Route 34 in Cato, New York, may have employed people without legal authorization and used fraudulent immigration documents, according to government documents.

Internal documents raised concerns about financial irregularities at the facility, authorities said. HSI Syracuse, in cooperation with IRS Syracuse, Oswego Border Patrol, and Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Syracuse, began an investigation into these allegations.

So, basically, the state government got a tip about possible undocumented workers in the workplace, and reasonable allegations of “financial violations” in the same place, and that gives the green light for federal agents to meet with the IRS so they can sweep the place, put the workers in the hallway, and kick down the bathroom doors, take your pants off a little to “take your pants off.”

Look, as we’ve noted in many of the reports we’ve done about the sadistic, violent, civil rights-violating actions of immigration agents, just because they’re not exterminating people right now doesn’t mean they’re not going around like the Gestapo.

Of course, none of us should collectively hold our breath waiting for the “make women’s restrooms safe again” crowd to retain the same power they have over the narrative of trans women using feminine facilities, because that narrative never meant safety; it was always about racism. After all, they elected to the White House a rapist in chief, a convicted rapist who, at least once, walked in on young girls being dressed backstage at a beauty pageant.

Nevertheless, while the federal government stuck to its standard text, saying that this raid was legal and part of the immigration laws – which shows that the Trump administration does not see anything wrong with forcibly entering the women’s toilet to be part of the “procedure” of the agents – Paul Tuck, the lawyer of one of the prisoners, in Argentina Juarez-Lopez asked for any evidence in the US in Brez-Lopez. raid, which Tuck argued violated the Fourth Amendment, which protects against searches and seizures without probable cause. Tuck also shared a body camera photo with the judge. Meanwhile, Juarez-Lopez, who is facing an immigration case, said that armed people blocked the exit of the lounge for about an hour during the raid.

It cannot be emphasized enough that the mass deportation program of President Donald Trump and his administration has never been about making America safer, any more than it has been about arresting dangerous criminals. They just want black people to go, and they don’t care how cruel and demeaning people have to be in the process.

Our government presents a greater threat to the country than immigrants, whether they are documented or not.
