In a new interview, drea admitted that social media shows that the black community prefers to participate in the background. Drea Kelly says support for domestic violence in the black community is unequal!

Cassie Ventura testified against Diddy in May, detailing years of abuse and violent assaults. Now, Drea Kelly says she thinks more people have rallied behind Cassie than other celebrity victims of domestic violence, including herself. Note, Dree was married to R. Kelly for 13 years and continued to accuse him of physical abuse in their relationship.

DREA added that social media has made it clear that the black community chooses to support, and believes that color plays a role.

“So we need to start being real as a community. We pick and choose who we want to celebrate and support, based on where they look,” said Drea.

The DREA also thinks that those who support them may be guilty of domestic abuse being caught in person, but they may not really know it the way their partner does. Still, Drease made it clear that he thinks Cassie deserves to be celebrated and recognized — but people also need to recognize that other victims of color haven’t received the same support. “We need to take it [colorism] without it and teach yourself, for that cried my mind, ” Drea continued.

Cassie’s lawyer speaks out after Diddy gets four-year prison sentence
