Stability: sza, black farmers & others continue to work to save the day when the Feds won’t
When the government turned its back on starving families, black farmers rose up. Not only that, but celebs like sza are also working to support families after being temporarily suspended from food aid work.
According to CAPIPAL B news, black farms managed like the CPS deep roots farm in Charlotte, North Carolina, have been giving out free produce and multiplying food credits while continuing food credits during the Federal Gridlock.
Capital B news reports that the Frezeng Freeze, caused by the Federal Government of October 1, has left almost one in eight Americans unsure if their benefits will arrive.
Snap employs approximately 41 million people nationwide, most of whom are black families, single parents and seniors on the program. Capital B reports that a short court decision ordered the management to use emergency funds, but the actual payments covered only 65 percent of the benefits that were issued.
In Capital B, the center of American development, it is sad that not only homes but also small retailers, department stores, and markets depend on the reduction of Snap to stay open.
“We’ve always been community-based,” said Cherie Jzar, who runs the CPS intensive farm with her family. “We’re not going to stop doing that, it doesn’t matter if SNAP is established or continues.”

Across the country, lawn planners are making sure no one goes hungry while the wealthiest state’s law enforcement gets rich.
In Capital B, Jzar and his family give out free products to the elderly and hit hard for money in the fridge.
“Those who are most at risk are our seniors who are in organized labor,” Jzar said. “They don’t have the means to adjust their budgets because of high food prices from time to time. And so what do we do?”
Programs like the double grain, used by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Food Caci Motor, stretch dollars further. According to Capital B, shoppers who use EBT cards can double their spending power at local farmers markets, spend an additional forty dollars, earn more CORCERS, and local farmers get paid.
Capital B news adds that black congress members criticized the payments to the administration, calling them “inefficient and illegal” that “are not enough to keep food on the tables of American families.”
Sza, Tyler Perry & Keith Lee The work of supporting families
In addition to the farmers, several celebs stepped in to make sure the families didn’t go hungry, including SZA, Keith Lee, and Tyler Perry.
In Los Angeles, SZA teamed up with beloved restaurant Jon and Vinny through a charitable initiative to provide 1,400 free meals to residents who rely on Snap.
From November 11-17, Slauson’s restaurant will distribute 100 meals a day for two days, providing much-needed relief amid the chaos. Jon and Vinny were praised by Sza for “inspiring all of us to be there for our neighbors,” as the SOS singer continues to use her influence to feed the community and lift up others.
Meanwhile, Vittok Food Closs Keith Lee launched his nationwide effort to feed families, and said he was “doing more than the president” for the American people.
“It’s the holidays that go up … I want brands to tag those who are willing to eat with me,” Lee told his 17 million followers. “I refuse to take money. I don’t want money.”
Lee, who is open about relying on the fund to support his family, received a huge response from the business community. Within days, more than 40 major brands, including doordash, cracker barrel, high golf, and impossible food, as well as 60 small businesses, signed up to partner with him.
In the next video, he said, “I’m coming to thank you from the bottom of my heart because I’m honored to be a part of this in any capacity,” Adding that they will be paid for their food instead of receiving it.
And in Atlanta, Tyler Perry has pledged about $1.5 million to help fill the gap left by the state’s money. As previously reported, his donations will support organizations such as the Atlanta Community Food Bank, Atlanta Food on Wheels, Baby2baby, Caring for Others, All in the Day, Foonr, which focuses on distributing fresh produce to families in need.
