Stefon Diggs Responds to Retraction Claims From a Freelance Chef

Stephen Diggs he says this after his former private chef accused him of strangulation. As The Shade Room previously reported, Diggs is now facing felony charges, including felony strangulation, aggravated battery, and assault and battery, all related to the incident that reportedly took place on Dec. 2.

Stefon Diggs Speaks Out About Former Freelance Chef’s Alleged Dismissal
The NFL star cut it down exclusively with reporters inside the New England Patriots locker room on Friday, Jan. 2. You started things off by apologizing for being MIA for the past few days. He admitted that it was a difficult time and said that he could not go into much detail about this case. “It was a very emotional moment. The case is definitely open so he won’t say anything about it.”
Regarding football, Stefon Diggs said he plans to continue working and finish the season strong. “As for football, I will continue to be the young man I was, I am trying to finish the season strong.” In some footage CBS News shared of his interview, Diggs added that he was leaning on his family and his team during this time.
“We all deal with life things, family things, being on a football team is hard. You come together, you depend on your brothers, you depend on your people that you spend a lot of time with,” Diggs continued.

The news about Stefon Diggs’ lawsuits was dropped at the end of 2025. On December 16, her former cook filed a police report, accusing Diggs of assaulting and strangling her. According to TMZ, she said Diggs stormed into her bedroom on December 2nd, got angry during their conversation, and slapped her. He said the dispute escalated following the appearance of a text message about the money he claimed to owe him. When he tried to push her away, he just grabbed her neck and tightened it. He added that he was breathing hard and feared he might faint.
He told the police that he did not take any pictures of the alleged injury, but his upper chest is red. At the time of the incident, he said he was not receiving his monthly allowance. He started working for Diggs in July, with the gig scheduled to continue through the 2025 NFL season. They initially agreed on a weekly payment, but it is said that later they changed it to a monthly plan.
Stefon’s Lawyer & New England Patriots Respond to Allegations
After the allegations against Stefon Diggs surfaced, his attorney David Meier wrote to The Associated Press in an email, saying the football player “denies the allegations.” Additionally, Meier called the claims unsubstantiated and unverified.
“The timing and motive for making these allegations is crystal clear: they are the direct result of an employer-employee financial dispute that was not resolved to the employee’s satisfaction,” wrote Attorney Meier.
The New England Patriots also spoke out, saying they stand by Diggs while adding that they plan to fully cooperate with authorities and the NFL.
