During the Livestream, K. Michelle talked to a lover who said they wanted to write to him. While closing the offer, Ke Michelle appeared to take a shot at AI artists who believed they were using her likeness, laying out the lawyer’s plans. In the episode, K. Michelle was heard saying:
“You know? I don’t need anybody to write me not songs now. I’ve got a lot of tension built up. All my brands are using a lawyer. All kinds of things going on.”
As previously reported, AI Artistration artist Xania Monet created Telisha “Nikki” Jones, a 31-year-old Mississippi writer with the song “SHOULDN’T WANT”. Jones uses 100% of his lyrics to provide an AI artist, bringing Xainia Monet to life with the SunO AI Platform. However, many agreed that Monet sounded like K. Michelle, it seems like she’s crossing a line she’s not willing to accept. Note, Apple’s Apple Music Bio compares the singer’s voice to Michelle’s, Keyshia Cole’s, and Muni Muni’s.

It seems that K. Michelle is not the only AI Exeng Ai in music. Renowned producer Jermaine Duphri recently shook the table this week, taking on X to drag the rise of AI artists and calling out the industry’s authenticity problem. Drawing a direct line from the Milli VANILL Scandal of 1990, Dupri reminded fans how the German Pop Duo won the Grammang For Best Arching without their album – and the other Vocalists did all the work. The Grammys are pulling their award, and now Dupri asks: Are AI-generated voices the next Millilli Vanilli Motor waiting to happen?
