The Shedeur banders started on Sunday. Here’s why it’s a big deal

On Sunday afternoon, when the Shedeur Senders take the field in front of Cleveland Brown, he will carry with him the hope that meets the promise of the black American for us because it is ours.
His list, his celebration, his confidence, all of that. So this is not a typical rookie taking the field line. In black America, this strikes a different note. This is a cultural moment wrapped in shoulder bags, cleats, and generations of “we told” power.
Because this has everything to do with Doug WinL Williams’ Super Bowl Win with Steve McNair, and Lamar Jackson became one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and critics still argue that he threw.

Shedeur doesn’t just play quarterback; He is passing on the legacy of black athletes who have always been the color of black Americans who have faced glass ceilings, inappropriate employee evaluations, and scrutiny for theft.
White America has always been dominated by black hopefuls. See: Muhammad Ali, Flojo, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, etc.
The list can take some time as the announcers ask ‘their maturity’ to call the festival “Flashy”, or you see confidence as “Cocky”. “
For decades, black quarterbacks have not even been allowed to be quarterbacks. Literally.
Teams didn’t draft black quarterbacks. The coaches did not trust them. Scouts evaluated them for their trash and not their skills. Hell, before Jackson would go on to win two MVPs playing quarterback, he was asked if he could play wide receiver.
So every time a black QB breaks, the weight is different. Poles are different. Scrutiny is different. So, we root for Shedeur in the same way we root for anyone black from white spaces and their talents are questionable.
We feel the same way that ISA RAE did when she said she “takes up the cause of every black person” at the 2017 Emmys. We all know how hard it is to get there and how hard it is to stay. Shedeur Sanders is the only fifth draft pick (and would not have been drafted in the fifth round) the only NFL player to open roots.
Because we have always been there. That’s what drives the black mainstream movement, where black people come together to stop police brutality and end black marginalization. Black people are responsible for the pain and wedded to a past that we didn’t ask for but are doing the best they can manage. We always have, and for better or for worse, we are very happy for anyone who, like us, works hard to get a big part.
We love Shedeur the same way we love his father. You don’t believe me? Then explain why his jersey is one of the best-selling NFL jerseys next to Super Bowl Champion Saquon Barkley (Eagles) and Jalen Hurts (Eagles); second-year sensation Jayden Daniels (Chiefs); And one of the most exciting quarterbacks, Josh Allen (bills). Shedeur banders (Brown), a late rounder buried on the depth chart early in the season, yet his jersey is a top seller.
So, when is Shedeur out there? He carries the ghosts of all the black knights who were told to change positions. Everyone who has never had a fair shot. Everyone who was held for a minute made the same mistake their white counterparts made every Sunday.
Let the record show: Black quarterbacks don’t just play the game. They rewrite.
I’m sure sandars would love to just send her way to the league, but it’s not who she is or how she was raised. He doesn’t get that luxury when his father is one of the most flamboyant, over-the-top, evil defenders in league history.
And White Americans hate him. They are worried about him. Every quick ticket, necklace, haircut, and chat with IG is not only negotiable, it is banned by sports panels and critics who want nothing more than their ends.
So on Sunday, Shedeur is not just torture. He bullies like a rookie Quarterback for the most loaded, loaded rookie quarterback in the NFL. And black americans can’t wait for our cousin to show up and finally win the job we all know he deserves.
