Founded in 2023 by Mit graduates Sualeh Ashiya, Arvid Lunnemark, Aman Sangemark, CUSOR creates tools that help automate systems. Its clients include companies such as Opelai, Uber, and Major League Baseball (MLB).
The rise of the indicator has helped “vibe codes,” a term coined earlier this year by Operai Coounder and Rerej Karpathy to describe a situation where vibes “completely accept that the code exists.” According to Karththy, such a thing is possible because the code models are “very poor,” as he said about the virus in the X post.
Cursor power has received a high profile endorsement. Nvidia’s Jensen Huang called it his “Enterprise AI Service” during an October appearance on CNBC’s The squawk boxrevealing that nearly all of Nvidia’s 40,000 developers use CERSOR tools. Pichai also praised the company, noting that he personally tested the vibe codes with their tools.

The company’s rapid acquisitions fueled the same rapid growth. The indicator now employs more than 300 engineers, researchers, designers and operators. The company plans to expand further, according to a blog post today. The startup has surpassed $1 billion in annual revenue and now produces more code than “almost any other llms in the world,” it said.
Competitors such as Anthropic and Opelai – which were reportedly acquired earlier this year – have also released coding tools to extract vibe codes. Cursor is pushing hard into model development with Composer, its coding model released in October. Most of the company’s new money will go toward improving the developer, CEO Michael Truell told The Wall Street Journal.
