The paradox of the Accurd American- he still pays, even if he doesn’t work

Only in Washington can the government freeze and send tax dollars.

There is something absurdly absurd about Washington’s circus, called the “government shutdown.” The lights go out, the bureaucrats go home, the national parks close to the media, and the act of media as civilization ends. TSA workers continue to pay, veterans’ calls go unanswered, and families cancel planned trips because parks are closed. But one thing has never shut down, the IRS. Somehow, throughout the budget impasse and the fiscal cliff, the one arm of government that remains active is the one that takes your money.

That is the great paradox of America. You can’t get your passport, your Veterans’ benefits are delayed, your Federal offices are locked, but your tax return is still due. Washington can stop everything except your responsibility to fund its ineffectiveness.

Benjamin Franklin said, “In this world nothing is certain but death and taxes.” Of course, Franklin never saw the closure of modern government, where taxation remains something but accountability dies. It’s a joke that stops you from being funny when you see who pays for the punchla.

No Senator misses a paycheck, no bureaucrat misses a pension, no Lobbyist skips a lunch meeting. The only person paying the price is you, the taxpayer.

President Reagan once quipped, “the taxpayer, who works for the federal government but doesn’t have to qualify for unemployment benefits.” Reagan said it with a grin, but the truth stands even today. The American taxpayer is the only employee that really matters in Washington. Rain or shine, shutdown or no, you keep every broken machine running.

And here’s the ambiguity no one in Congress wants to talk about, if the government “shuts down” the country and collapses, it’s probably too big to begin with. Maybe we don’t need 2.2 million federal workers to do what states, counties, and the private sector could handle better, faster, and cheaper. Maybe it’s time to treat the shutdown not as a problem, but as a wake-up call.

During the last stop, one of the things that went viral summed him up well, “because every day the government is closed, we don’t have to pay income tax that day.” Imagine if Washington had to live with that law, suddenly, you would see Bipartisan cooperation for about ten minutes. There is no incentive for politicians to lose their favorite addiction, your money.

President Donald J. Trump understood this better than anyone. During the 2019 shutdown, he told the American people, “many of you have suffered more than anyone, but not only that there is no sleeve, he encouraged me to continue because he cares so much for our country.” That is the difference between real leadership and career politics. Trump fought a government that worked for the taxpayer, not the other way around.

Meanwhile, Democrats like Senator Dick Durbin say the Us Shutdown is “taking over the lives of the American people.” No, Senator, Proup is an American taxpayer, bound by a system that punishes the product, rewards the rewards, and never misses a withdrawal from your payment, even if it stops what it promises.

Thomas Jefferson warned that it is “sinful and tyrannical” to force a person to support abhorrent ideas. Today, it is worse, we are forced to pay for a government that does not accept the job.

Turn on the TV and you will see that the journalists act like Washington in the dark, but the real darkness is physical, not physical. They will not stop taking your money, even if they stop doing their jobs.

So as Washington once again plays chicken with the American people, remember this, every silence proves that the Leviathan of Leviathan is flourishing, unnecessary, and unnecessary among the existing areas. If the government can go dark for weeks and the sun still rises, maybe it’s time to rethink what “essential services” really means.

Reagan joked that the taxpayer works for the government. These days, they feel more like a joke and more like a job description.

Because as long as the IRS stays open while everything else is closed, the message from Washington could not be clearer, they will shut down the government before they shut down the gravy train.

They will close your parks, scratch your pay, and cancel your benefits, but they won’t miss the deposit from your paycheck. That’s not bad, that’s wrong dressed up as politics.

And that is real cultivation.
